ORPE Technologiya named after A.G. Romashin, as part of the Rostec State Corporation, has phased out the foreign materials used to manufacture heated glazing for locomotive cabs. The company has launched the electrically-heated glazing production line within a very short time to ensure uninterrupted supply of railway transport products.
A current conducting coating in the form of an ultrathin metal oxide film applied to the surface of one of the glass panes serves as the glass (triplex) heating element in the locomotive cab. When energized, the film heats the entire glass system uniformly without any hot and cold spots or optical distortions even for complex-geometry glazing. In recent years, glass with applied current conducting coating has been supplied by foreign manufacturers.
ORPE Technologiya’s current conducting coatings provide wide heating power range to ensure safe and comfortable driving environment even in the most severe weather conditions. The glazing is equipped with a temperature control sensor and proximity thermoelectric controller to maintain the set temperature.
